Contraindications for Lamination

  • Positive reaction to patch test done at least 24 hours prior.
  • Previous reaction with same or similar service.
  • Skin conditions: eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, lesions, sore, or open wounds in brow area.
  • Contagious skin diseases (chickenpox, shingles, herpes).
  • Skin trauma, cuts, abrasions, burns and swelling in the brow area.
  • Infections such as conjunctivitis (pink eye).
  • Chemotherapy.
  • Weak or damaged brow hair from over-processing or recently done lamination.
  • Recent surgery around eyes, head, or face.
  • Hypersensitive skin/eyes.
  • Alopecia.
  • Trichotillomania (impulse disorder, compulsive urge to pull one’s hair).
  • Any disease/disorder that causes shaking, twitching, or erratic movements.
  • Recent PMU service done on brows.
  • Botox or dermal fillers (on or around forehead area).
  • On acne medication: Accutane, doxycycline, etc.
  • On anti-aging creams or medications: Vitamin A, Retinols, AHAs/BHAs or any other medication or creams.
  • Brow henna performed within the 48 hours to appointment.
  • Steroid or cortisone creams as they thin and make skin sensitive.
  • Pregnant or nursing.
